Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Mid-level Full Stack Software Engineer - SATCOM to design and develop platform services for secure, scalable satellite ground communications. You will contribute to backend Python APIs and data services, plus frontend work using TypeScript, within an Agile team and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities include building PostgreSQL structures, implementing microservices with OAuth 2.0 and JWT, and deploying with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field with 7+ years experience; or Bachelor’s with 5+ years; or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Minimum Top-Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and maintain clearance.
• Proficient in Python backend development.
• Experience in PostgreSQL design and development, including queries, triggers, and stored functions.
• Experience with microservice architecture and security (OAuth 2.0, JWT).
• Frontend development experience using TypeScript and modern UI frameworks.
• Git-based version control (GitHub or GitLab).
• Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
• Experience with message-driven or event-driven architectures and RBAC/ABAC.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services in Python, including APIs and automation logic.
• Build and maintain PostgreSQL database structures and queries.
• Implement microservices and security mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, JWT).
• Contribute to frontend development with TypeScript and modern UI frameworks.
• Participate in Agile activities: sprint planning, code reviews, iterative delivery.
• Troubleshoot production issues with structured approaches.
• Collaborate on code reviews via Git-based workflows.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm for containerized deployment.
