A prestigious law firm is seeking a mid-level Employment Associate to join its San Diego office. This role involves handling litigation management, legal research, drafting, and providing counsel in a variety of employment law matters, including wage and hour issues, discrimination, wrongful termination, and more. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, particularly in litigation and transactional work.
Location:
Duties:
- Manage employment-related litigation, including class actions and single-plaintiff cases.
- Handle legal research, legal drafting, and provide litigation-related support for various employment law matters.
- Advise clients on employment law matters, including wage and hour laws, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
- Draft and negotiate employment, termination, severance, and related agreements.
- Provide counsel on corporate transactions, including employment due diligence and advising on employment aspects.
- Advise on restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, commission plans, policies, and leave of absence/accommodation issues (FMLA, ADA).
- Represent clients before state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
- Offer day-to-day advice and counsel to clients in a range of industries.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, PAGA claims, and transactional work.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws, discrimination, and practice before state and federal courts and agencies.
- Experience defending class and collective actions, providing legal advice, and supporting complex corporate transactions.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Admitted to practice law in California.
