A leading law firm is seeking a highly skilled mid-level Employment Associate for its Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented attorney with 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation and transactional work. The successful candidate will handle a variety of employment law matters, including class actions, discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, and corporate transactions. Location:
Duties:
- Manage litigation in employment law cases, including class actions and single-plaintiff matters.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
- Handle disputes related to wage and hour issues, misclassification, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.
- Provide employment law advice and counsel, including drafting and negotiating employment, termination, severance, and related agreements.
- Conduct employment due diligence and advise on employment matters in corporate transactions.
- Offer guidance on restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, commission plans, policies, employee training, and leave of absence/accommodation issues (FMLA, ADA).
- Represent clients before state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
- Provide day-to-day advice and counsel to clients across various industries.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation, advice and counsel, PAGA, and transactional work.
- Deep understanding of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws, discrimination, and experience before courts and agencies.
- Experience defending class actions and collective actions.
- Proven track record in advising clients and supporting complex corporate transactions.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Admitted to practice law in California.
