Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 3-7 years of employment litigation experience to handle single plaintiff harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims. The ideal candidate will have experience in both state and federal court, defending clients in complaints and charges before agencies such as the CRD, EEOC, and California Labor Commissioner. The position involves case management, discovery, depositions, law and motion work, and both arbitration and trial experience.
Location:
Duties:
- Defend single plaintiff harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims in state and federal court.
- Represent clients before the CRD, EEOC, and/or California Labor Commissioner.
- Provide general employment-related advice and counsel.
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
- Conduct and defend depositions.
- Handle law and motion work, including dispositive motions, motions to compel arbitration, and discovery-related motions.
- Prepare case evaluations for clients and provide strategic legal counsel.
- Proactively manage and handle cases from start to finish.
- Prepare for and attend mediations, including drafting mediation briefs.
- Attend court hearings, status conferences, and argue dispositive motions.
- Participate in arbitration and trial proceedings.
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of experience in single plaintiff employment litigation.
- Strong background in defending harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims.
- Experience representing clients before the CRD, EEOC, and California Labor Commissioner.
- Proven ability to prepare and respond to discovery requests.
- Experience conducting and defending depositions.
- Expertise in law and motion work, including dispositive motions and motions to compel arbitration.
- Experience in arbitration and trial settings.
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently and effectively.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Admitted to practice law in the State of California.
