Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Ecologist to join our Nuclear Services Environmental Licensing Team.

You will conduct and lead environmental analyses in support of NRC licensing projects nationwide, interact with regulatory agencies, and help gather data during site visits. The role involves presenting complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiences, preparing detailed reports, and staying current on environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in environmental consulting, nuclear power, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations (ESA, NEPA, MBTA, BGEPA, etc.).
  • Experience working with federal or state regulatory agencies.
  • Experience developing technical reports and supporting regulatory reviews.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency using MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to travel/work in the field ~5% of the time; 3–4 day durations.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental Impact Assessment & Compliance: Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on terrestrial and aquatic resources. Prepare environmental reports and biological assessments in accordance with NRC regulations, NEPA, and other applicable regulatory guidelines. Support environmental licensing applications for the NRC.
  • Data Collection & Site Evaluation: Participate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impacts. Support the development of technical content (text, figures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessments.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concerns. Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Fieldwork & Environmental Protection: Assist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measures. Perform terrestrial, aquatic, and federally protected resource evaluations for technical reporting.
