Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to service heavy-duty vehicles. The role offers weekly pay and strong benefits, with a 10:00 pm–6:30 am third shift and a $30.50 per hour rate.

Responsibilities include maintenance, repairs, inspections, diagnostics, and addressing customer concerns. A high school diploma and CDL-A are preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months is required for consideration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/Technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance.
• Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A, preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder drug test and DOT physical; pass Ryder road test and background check from last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT and company guidelines.
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations.
