Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, plus preferred CDL Class A, post-hire CDL process, and required safety/DOT checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake and tire work.
• Two years or more of classroom training and work experience, preferred.
• CDL Class A, preferred.
• Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire; drug test, DOT physical, and road test required.
• Background and motor vehicle checks required.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Inspects and repairs standard components.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs.
• Interacts with drivers to determine nature of the issue.
• Uses Shop Management System and documentation.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
