Job summary

Ryder in Greenville, South Carolina is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to service heavy‑duty vehicles. This position features weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and a second‑shift schedule with competitive pay and advancement opportunities.

You will earn $28.00 per hour, qualify for a certification bonus, and participate in quarterly bonuses, paid training, and a 401(k) match. PTO begins on day one in a safety‑driven, veteran‑friendly environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience repairing automotive gas/diesel engines and performing routine preventative maintenance.
• 2+ years combined classroom training and work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred and must obtain CDL within 6 months if required.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
• Executes standard preventive maintenance and component inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root causes and performs repairs as needed.
• Interacts with drivers to determine nature of the service request.
• Adheres to safety, DOT, and company compliance guidelines.
• Maintains documentation and uses shop management system.
