Ryder System, Inc. in Garner, NC is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles on a second shift. The role offers weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for bonuses and advancement.

The position requires basic tools, diesel repair aptitude, and a CDL is preferred with the possibility to obtain one within 6 months. Schedule is Monday–Friday with specific evening hours.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Ensures compliance with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations.
