Job summary

OBXtek is seeking a mid-level Termination Contract Specialist in the Washington, DC area. The role requires advising on terminations for convenience or default and coordinating with COs, legal counsel, and partners to ensure compliant closeouts.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of US government contract management experience, FAC-C or CFCM certification, and a Bachelor's degree in Business or related field. On-site three days per week is expected.

Qualifications

5+ years of US government contract management experience.
At least 1 year terminating contracts and negotiating termination settlements.
FAC-C Professional or CFCM certification.
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
Ability to assimilate new topics quickly and apply regulations.

Responsibilities

Advise on terminations for convenience or default of contracts.
Prepare all required documentation for termination actions and settlements.
Interpret and apply FAR and USAID regulations and policies.
Process actions in USAID contracts and financial management system.
Coordinate with General Counsel, technical teams, and partners to manage termination.
Assess financial, contractual, and programmatic implications and recommend risk mitigation.
Ensure post-termination actions including audits, final payments, and closeouts.
Develop guidance, templates, and training materials for terminations.
