Job summary

Everforth ECS seeks a Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure AWS cloud solutions for DoW partners in Fairfax, VA. The role focuses on hybrid cloud architectures, containerized workloads with ECS/EKS, and serverless components using Lambda and API Gateway.

You will work with DoD security standards, STIGs, and CI/CD automation. The position requires DoD clearance eligibility, 5+ years in IT, and travel under 10% to CONUS locations. Hybrid onsite in Fairfax, VA.

Qualifications

• DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain Top Secret with SCI indoctrination.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or STEM discipline.
• 5+ years IT experience in cybersecurity, sysadmin, or engineering.
• 2+ years deploying solutions in AWS.
• Willingness to travel <10% to CONUS locations (N VA area).
• Hands-on AWS skills: EC2, S3, RDS, EBS; VPC, subnets, SGs; Docker/ECS/EKS; Lambda; API Gateway; STEP Functions.
• IaC tools: Terraform or CloudFormation.
• IP networking, IAM, security controls, Linux/Windows.
• Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain cloud-based, hybrid solutions in AWS.
• Manage container workloads with ECS, EKS, or Fargate.
• Build serverless components using Lambda and API Gateway.
• Ensure DoW security requirements and FedRAMP/NIST alignment.
• Perform functional, interoperability, and security testing of deployments.
• Automate patching and CI/CD pipelines; patch OS and apps.
• Collaborate with engineers and partners on large solutions.
• Assist enclave applications and troubleshoot networking issues.
