Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES - North America in Crete, IL seeks a Microbiology Technician for its Food Science Center. You will perform microbiology testing and record results, ensuring accurate tracking of samples and conditions throughout the analysis workflow.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, basic microbiology knowledge, and familiarity with LIMS. You will work in a lab environment with safety protocols and opportunities to contribute to quality improvement

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of microbiology to accurately perform testing procedures.
• Basic knowledge of personal computers to accurately enter testing data and results.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Planning skills to maintain supplies and ensure analysis is completed within specified time.

Responsibilities

• Read plates and tubes to determine the number of organisms.
• Record findings on worksheet for verification.
• Pipette samples and prepare media and broth for analysis.
• Incubate plates or tubes at specified times and temperatures.
• Maintain knowledge of LIMS and complete job responsibilities.
• Support quality and continuous improvement processes.
• Adhere to safety policies and perform housekeeping duties.
