MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Georgia seeks a Microbiology Technician to prepare samples for processing, record data, and support testing workflows in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The incumbent will weigh, blend, plate, incubate, and read plates, ensuring accurate tracking of client and sample IDs.

Based in Stone Mountain, the role requires HS diploma with 1+ year experience, strict adherence to safety policies, routine LIMS data entry, and ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work.
• Basic science knowledge to perform testing procedures.
• Basic PC skills and safe laboratory practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.
• Write identification onto plates for tracking.
• Pipette sample solutions into tubes or plates as required.
• Pour agar into plates or tubes to initiate growth.
• Incubate plates and collect them as specified.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing.
• Maintain documentation in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Set up equipment and materials for analysis.
• Read plates and tubes to determine organism counts.
• Support quality and continuous improvement processes.
• Maintain clean, sanitized work areas and participate in housekeeping.
