Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Crete, IL is seeking a Lead Research Microbiologist to oversee contract research studies in a fast-growing food safety and quality environment, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring compliance with SOPs.

You will lead study setup, data review, results transfer, and reporting, train laboratory staff, review project folders, and support continuous improvement while collaborating on proposals, reports and client communications.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of food microbiology and food science, typically from an advanced degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a research laboratory for executing studies and data analysis.
• Strong independent research abilities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational activities of contract research projects per agreement and SOPs.
• Review study folders and data daily to ensure tasks are completed accurately.
• Setup new research studies per signed agreements; coordinate with lab personnel.
