MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Crete, IL is seeking a Lead Research Microbiologist - Molecular to oversee molecular lab operations. You will manage multi-step tests (gene sequencing, PCR, NGS), maintain QA records, and support method development.

The role requires strong molecular biology expertise and leadership in a GMP/ISO 17025 environment. You will coordinate testing schedules, ensure data quality, train analysts, and interact with cross-functional teams to support study design and client

Qualifications

• Master's degree in molecular biology or 5+ years in a molecular biology lab.
• Strong knowledge of molecular microbiology and safety procedures.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Experience with laboratory documentation and LIMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and multi-step tests: gene sequencing, DNA subtyping, real-time PCR, and NGS.
• Lead testing schedules and inventory management to meet due dates.
• Verify results and prepare client reports; address discrepancies.
• Maintain QC documentation and logbooks; ensure GMP/ISO 17025 compliance.
• Train analysts and participate in ongoing method validation and study design.
