Job summary

We are seeking a Microbiology Technician to join our Arlington, TX team. The role involves preparing samples for analysis, weighing, recording data, and tracking with client/sample IDs. You will pipette solutions, incubate plates, and assist with pathogen testing as required.

Responsibilities include maintaining the LIMS system, organizing materials, and supporting ongoing quality improvements. Evening and weekend work is required; the site offers full-time benefits and medical coverage.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work experience.
• Basic knowledge of science to perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results.
• Basic knowledge of personal computers to enter testing data.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.
• Write identification onto plates for client/sample tracking.
• Pipette sample solution into tubes or plates according to analysis process.
• Pour agar into plates or tubes to begin growth.
• Collect plates and incubate for specified time and temperature.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as required.
• Maintain LIMS knowledge to complete job responsibilities.
• Set up equipment and materials needed for analysis.
• Read plates and tubes to determine organism counts.
• Support quality and continuous improvement processes.
