Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in Mobile, AL. The role supports specimen testing and requires the ability to work with laboratory instruments while maintaining accuracy and safety.

You will perform routine and complex procedures, monitor equipment, and ensure timely reporting of results to support patient care. The schedule is Mon–Fri 3:00pm–11:30pm with alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
