Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Minnetonka, MN is seeking a Microbiology Technician to support routine testing with four 10-hour shifts (Wed–Sat, 11:00 AM–9:30 PM). You will prepare samples, label plates, pipette solutions, and incubate cultures, while maintaining LIMS records and ensuring safety and sanitation throughout the lab.

Qualified candidates have a HS Diploma, 1+ year relevant work, basic science knowledge, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work experience.
• Basic science knowledge to perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results.
• Basic PC knowledge to enter testing data and results.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis and record data.
• Label plates with client and sample numbers for traceability.
• Pipette sample solutions into tubes or plates per protocol.
• Pour agar and begin growth processes on plates or in tubes.
• Incubate plates at specified time and temperature.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as required.
• Maintain LIMS documentation and ensure data accuracy.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and sanitized.
• Support laboratory management in quality and continuous improvement.
• Participate in cleaning schedules and retain samples as required.
