Job summary

AHN seeks a Medical Lab Technician/Medical Technologist (Microbiology) for Heritage Valley Beaver, Beaver, PA. Work is mostly evening shift with rotating weekends and holidays. Responsible for processing, analyzing and reporting lab results with minimal supervision while upholding confidentiality and quality standards.

The role requires MT/MLT credentials, ASCP certification (or HEW path), and clearance within specified timelines, with opportunities for leadership in absence of supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Program
• Certification by ASCP within 6 months from date of hire OR HEW certification with 5 years of full-time clinical laboratory experience
• Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of starting employment, if applicable
• Ability to perform and interpret laboratory tests with professional judgment

Responsibilities

• Accurately process, analyze and report laboratory results in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Follow quality control guidelines and perform instrumentation troubleshooting as needed
• Handle specimen collection and processing requirements
• Able to assume lead responsibilities in absence of a supervisor and maintain confidentiality
