Job summary

Aultman Health System in Canton, OH seeks a skilled microbiology laboratory professional to perform routine and complex tests on a wide range of specimens, using standard and specialized techniques to support diagnosis and treatment.

You will exercise professional judgment to prioritize test requests, operate instrumentation, maintain quality and safety standards, and mentor students and new staff in a fast-paced, 24/7 laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology or MLT degree.
• Willingness to fill CLIA role of Technical Consultant or General Supervisor.
• Ability to perform microbiology tests and adhere to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiology tests to identify microorganisms causing disease.
• Perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing to guide treatment.
• Maintain safety and quality standards in the laboratory.
• Operate instrumentation per policies and procedures.
• Provide mentorship to students and new staff.
• Participate in quality improvement and department meetings.
