Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join the Microbiology team in Portland, OR. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science (MLS preferred) and 1 year of lab experience or MLS degree.

You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex tests, monitor instruments, and ensure quality results while maintaining safety protocols. The position is on 3rd shift with comprehensive benefits, opportunities for growth, and a collaborative team in a modern

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology required.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions per SOPs.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to PPE requirements.
