Job summary

LabCorp is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team at the Halsey Lab in Portland, OR. The role involves hematology, urinalysis and coagulation, performing routine and complex tests per SOPs.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or Medical Technology and ASCP or AMT certification, with 1 year of clinical lab testing experience. Schedule: Tue-Sat, 1:00 AM–9:30 AM. OT flexibility and strong customer service are valuable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
• ASCP or AMT certification
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Predominantly working in Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
