Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or MT (ASCP or equivalent) preferred.
• Associates degree with MLT acceptable.
• Associates or better in Microbiology or related field preferred.
• Bachelors in Microbiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs lab testing in Microbiology, including Serology, Virology and Parasitology.
• Reviews daily specimen management reports.
• Troubleshoots LIS and instrument interfaces; maintains software.
• Records quality assurances and proficiency testing.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and records lot numbers per state rules.
• Reads cultures and records MIC results; follows safety protocols.
• Performs clerical tasks for the department.
• Seeks coaching and self-improvement when appropriate.
