Job summary

AtlantiCare is seeking a Lab Technologist for the Microbiology department on dayshift. The role performs testing with interpretation of clinical results, adheres to CLIA standards, and participates in quality control and proficiency testing.

Strong attention to accuracy and equipment troubleshooting are required. The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in medical technology and ASCP/AMT eligibility with ongoing certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited medical technology program or meets FDA qualifications for CLIA standards.
• ASCP eligible or equivalent (AMT) and required within 24 months of hire date or transfer; certification must be maintained.
• Performance expectations align with department competencies and compliance with fraud and abuse policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory testing procedures and provides result interpretation.
• Reviews and verifies results for data validity and interprets outcomes.
• Maintains inventory, optimizes equipment use, and troubleshoots issues as needed.
• Participates in quality control and proficiency testing and supports performance improvement.
