Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced MI/SU Outpatient Services Director to provide leadership and oversight for the Center’s Mental Illness/Substance Use outpatient services. This position operates within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model and is responsible for supporting the delivery of integrated, person-centered, recovery-focused, and high-quality behavioral health services. The Director will oversee therapists and other MI/SU outpatient staff while promoting effective clinical operations, regulatory compliance, and continuity of care.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or another behavioral health-related field
• Current professional license in the applicable discipline preferred
• Relevant clinical experience in mental health and/or substance use treatment
• Supervisory or leadership experience in a behavioral health or community mental health setting preferred
• Knowledge of person-centered treatment planning, trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and integrated MI/SU treatment
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight for the Center’s MI/SU outpatient programs, therapists, and other assigned clinical staff
• Supervise and support staff in providing person-centered, recovery-focused, trauma-informed, and evidence-based behavioral health services
• Monitor clinical services, treatment planning, documentation, productivity, and overall program performance
• Ensure outpatient services comply with Alabama Department of Mental Health, CCBHC, Medicaid, Medicare, and agency requirements
• Promote integrated mental health and substance use treatment and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams within the CCBHC care model
• Provide clinical consultation and guidance regarding complex consumer needs, treatment concerns, and service coordination
• Support staff development, training, clinical competency, and professional growth
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to strengthen clinical services and consumer outcomes
• Collaborate with psychiatric providers, crisis services, care coordinators, peer support staff, healthcare providers, and community partners to promote continuity of care
• Identify program needs, service gaps, and opportunities to improve access to outpatient behavioral health services
• Participate in leadership meetings, program planning, and other activities necessary to support effective MI/SU outpatient operations

Provide leadership across the Center’s MI/SU outpatient services while working collaboratively with clinical staff, agency leadership, and community partners. Support a multidisciplinary environment focused on accessible, integrated behavioral health care and improved recovery and wellness outcomes for individuals with mental health and substance use needs.

Requirements

ALL candidates must be able to type and have basic computer skills, possess a valid driver’s license, eligibility for coverage under center liability insurance and individually held vehicle liability insurance with a clear background check.
