Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a senior operations leader to manage the administrative operations of the BCH Center for Pediatric Bioethics. You will develop and implement program plans, schedules, and budgets, and identify new programs while monitoring performance and recommending changes.

You will hire and train staff, assist executives on project initiatives, and lead cross-functional efforts in a dynamic academic medical environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement program goals and objectives in collaboration with Sr. Management.
  • Develop and manage budget proposals with controls over expenditures.
  • Hire and train staff; oversee performance and development.
  • Advise executives on project initiatives and strategic direction.
  • Lead change management, SOP development, and process redesign.
  • Oversee program delivery, workshops, and staff communications.
  • Coordinate liaison with internal staff and external partners.

Job description

Position Summary

Manages the administrative operations of the BCH Center for Pediatric Bioethics. Develop and implement program plans, scheduling and budgets. Identify and manage the development of new programs and monitor the performance of programs and recommend changes. Hire and train staff as needed. Assist and advise executives on project initiatives

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages the planning and implementation of program goals and objectives.Work in conjunction with Sr. Management to establish goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for budget proposals and recommendations and establishes budget control system for controlling expenditures; controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations; recommends equipment and resources for program.
  • Responsible for business change management, including business process redesign, training, SOPs
  • Manage project scope and timeline through formal change management processes
  • Manages project issues and risks through standard issue/risk process
  • Manages, selects, trains, evaluates and manages unit or department staff for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Performs need assessments, evaluates and analyzes individual program and overall unit or department effectiveness; implements appropriate procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy to fulfill the unit or department and campus mission.
  • Develops and manages the development of internal systems and materials for delivery of programs and services
  • Provides technical advice, policy interpretation, and guidance for application of appropriate procedures to staff, students and administrators.
  • Develops and facilitates or oversees the development and facilitation of workshops, seminars and orientations.
  • Oversees development of information flyers, internal forms and various materials to facilitate unit or department programs and services.
  • Interacts and maintains liaison with staff, faculty and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Master's Degree Preferred
Experience
  • 6 years of relevant experience

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
