Job summary

City of Cleveland is seeking a Customer Support Associate – Meter Operations to support field crews and customers. This role participates in the Civil Service Examination process, with placement on an eligible list for future openings.

Under supervision, you will review meter discrepancies, process reading and repair requests, monitor AMR alerts, and coordinate customer appointments. Requires high school diploma and strong English; experience in a high-volume office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
• Two years of full-time customer service experience in a high-volume office.
• Experience with water utility or meter reading is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Review meter-related discrepancies against readings, numbers, and configurations.
• Complete daily meter reading, investigation, and repair requests.
• Monitor cut cable alerts in the AMR system.
• Coordinate with customers to schedule special repair appointments.
• Update billing system with non-AMR meter information.
• Provide backup support to Radio Dispatchers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
