The Traffic Operations Meteorology Intern program at The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Inc. provides training to develop practical meteorology skills within the traffic operations unit.

You will work alongside professionals, perform increasingly responsible tasks, and complete projects with close supervision. Applicants must be currently enrolled as juniors or seniors in meteorology or related fields, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a post-secondary program with meteorology or related coursework.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license; PA license within six months of employment.

Responsabilités

• Participates in on-the-job training to apply meteorology to traffic operations.
• Assists with daily and weekly weather forecasting to support organizational objectives.
• Contributes to data analysis of predictive weather patterns and historical events to identify issues for traffic operations.
• Attends meetings and project teams, offering recommendations for new ideas and procedures.
• Maintains GIS/data for the weather dashboard and coordinates with the Communications Department.
