Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's PennDOT is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer Manager to lead traffic operations, work zones, and long-term planning across districts.

You will oversee programs, manage contracts for ITS maintenance, and coordinate with partners to advance transportation goals. A PE license and five years of experience are required; telework may be available part-time within PA.

Qualifications

• Five years of professional civil engineering experience including two years of directing the work of civil engineers.
• Must possess a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Direct district programs for work zones, traffic control, signage, pavement markings, and incident management.
• Guide planning, design, installation, and operation of advanced traffic management and communication systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage multiple contracts for ITS maintenance, staffing, integration, and operational support.
• Develop long term goals, policies, procedures, and work standards to support district business needs.
• Allocate staff, funding, and technology to ensure programs meet performance expectations.
• Work with local partners, agencies, and task forces to support regional transportation goals.
