Job summary

ATI in North Carolina seeks a Process Engineer to lead and optimize hot working processes for Nickel, Titanium, and Specialty Steel products, applying metallurgical expertise to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.

You will act as technical lead for post-melt operations such as open die press forging, radial forging, and hot rolling, and you will support development and standardization of new products and processes.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science & Engineering.
• Internships and/or co-op work experience in a metals-related industry.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead for post-melt processes including open die press forging, radial forging, and hot rolling.
• Develop and maintain metallurgical and operational expertise in Nickel, Titanium, and Specialty Steel alloys.
• Lead programs to improve yield, cost, and cycle time.
• Resolve process-related non-conformances and reduce scrap.
• Apply thermal/deformation modeling to evaluate and improve products and processes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to improve safety and product quality.
