Job summary

ATI is seeking a Process Engineer to lead and optimize hot working processes for Nickel, Titanium, and Specialty Steel products. You will apply metallurgical expertise to improve process efficiency, product quality, safety, and standardization across development projects.

You will leverage your materials science background to model thermo-mechanical processes, collaborate with operations and quality, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven problem solving on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science & Engineering.
• Internships or co-op experience in metals-related industry.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead for post-melt processes (open die press forging, radial forging, hot rolling).
• Develop and maintain metallurgical and operational expertise in Nickel, Titanium, and Specialty Steel alloys.
• Lead cross-functional programs to improve yield, cost, and cycle time.
• Resolve process-related non-conformances and reduce scrap.
• Apply thermal/deformation modeling to improve products and processes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Quality to improve safety and product quality.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities (risk assessments, 5-why, cause & effect, process mapping).
• Support customers by analyzing thermo-mechanical processing data.
• Support Product Engineering and R&D in development and standardization of new products and processes.
• Provide technical support during customer audits.
