Job summary

ATI is seeking an Engineer I, Technology (Process Engineer) in Monroe, NC to lead and optimize titanium processing steps from raw materials to melting. You will apply metallurgical engineering principles to improve process efficiency, product quality, and safety.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to drive continuous improvement, support development of new products and processes, and provide technical leadership on shop floor activities.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering preferred.
  • Will consider B.S. or M.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Six Sigma or related certification is a plus.
  • Proficient in statistical data analysis.
  • 1+ years in aerospace, defense, metals processing or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Technical lead for processes including raw materials qualifications, advanced material weighout systems, welding, and melting of titanium products.
  • Provide technical support to continuously improve processes, yields, and resolve process-related non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Quality to improve manufacturing processes and standards that enhance safety, equipment performance and product quality.
  • Lead or participate in team-based continuous improvement activities including risk assessments, PSR, process audits and standard work.
  • Support internal/external customers by analyzing chemistry and yield processing data.
  • Support Product Engineering and R&D in the development, evaluation, and standardization of new products and processes.
