Job summary

Shively Bros is seeking a Metallurgical Lab Technician in the United States, Tennessee area to prepare heat-treated components and conduct testing of material structures, micro-hardness, and case depth using specialized metallurgical equipment. The role includes reporting results and ensuring safety protocols are followed in a production environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and ability to prepare reports.
• Willingness to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical testing to analyze material structure, hardness, case depth, and other tests as required
• Testing must follow all required specifications and be performed quickly to meet production deadlines
• Review test results comparing them to the specifications, prepare reports and approve materials based on criteria and requirements
• Promptly communicate results the met lab supervisor and plant management
• Develop and maintain charts and reports for the sediment and metallurgical processes
• Comply with all Global Manufacturing System systems and procedures
• Ability to problem-solve during manufacturing processes
• Safely and correctly operate lab equipment, perform routine preventative maintenance, and report any issues to management
