Job summary

Shively Bros is seeking a Metallurgical Lab Technician in Spring Hill, TN, to prepare heat-treated components and conduct tests on material structures, micro-hardness, and case depth using specialized equipment.

You will review results, prepare reports, and communicate findings to the lab supervisor and plant management, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and quality specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and ability to prepare reports.
• Comply with all safety guidelines including PPE and safe chemical handling.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical testing to analyze material structure, hardness, case depth, and other tests as required.
• Testing must follow specifications and meet production deadlines.
• Review test results, prepare reports, and approve materials based on criteria.
• Promptly communicate results to the lab supervisor and plant management.
• Develop and maintain charts and reports for sediment and metallurgical processes.
• Comply with all Global Manufacturing System procedures.
• Problem-solve during manufacturing processes.
• Safely operate lab equipment, perform routine maintenance, and report issues.
