Job summary

Shively Bros is seeking a Metallurgical Lab Technician in Toledo, OH, to prepare heat-treated components and conduct material testing including structure, hardness, and case depth using specialized metallurgical equipment.

The role requires high school education or equivalent, strong computer skills, and strict adherence to safety guidelines and PPE. You will generate reports, analyze results, and communicate findings to supervision and management. A background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Strong computer skills, ability to organize and prepare reports.
• Comply with safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment, including PPE and chemical handling.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical testing to analyze material structure, hardness, case depth, and other tests as required.
• Testing must follow specifications and meet production deadlines.
• Review test results, prepare reports and approve materials based on criteria and requirements.
• Promptly communicate results to the met lab supervisor and plant management.
• Develop and maintain charts and reports for the sediment and metallurgical processes.
• Comply with all Global Manufacturing System procedures.
• Ability to problem-solve during manufacturing processes.
• Safely operate lab equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.
