BPGbio, Inc. in Waltham, MA is seeking a Metabolomics/Lipidomics Scientist to lead MS-based bioanalysis and method development. The role emphasizes targeted and non-targeted analyses, software-assisted data reporting, and collaboration with external partners.

The candidate will apply LC/MS and LC/MS/MS workflows to metabolite analysis across biological matrices, and will contribute to SOP development and QA/QC processes within a multidisciplinary translational sciences platform.

Formación

• The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field with 1+ year experience.
• Broad understanding of metabolomics/lipidomics applications and biochemistry related to systems biology, neurodegeneration, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and cancer is a plus.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot instrumentation issues for HPLC and MS systems.
• Experience with sample preparation techniques including SPE, liquid-liquid extraction and protein precipitation.
• Deep understanding of core HPLC and MS concepts (reversed-phase LC, HILIC, high-res/accurate mass, MS/MS).
• Excellent communication and teamwork, with strong record-keeping and ability to work independently.

Responsabilidades

• Conceptualize, perform, analyze and report experiments.
• Perform mass spectrometry-based assays and metabolite analysis on diverse samples.
• Laboratory analytical instrumentation routine maintenance.
• Daily QA/QC, system suitability testing, method development and validated SOP implementation.
• Develop SOPs and manage external collaborations.
• Other duties as assigned.
