Job summary

S4L Partners seeks a Finance associate to join the Finance & Transactions team in the U.S. with a hybrid work schedule. You will engage in private company M&A, interact with shareholders, and contribute to business development and client-facing activities.

The role requires 3–6 years of transactional/M&A experience, a J.D. degree, and admission in Illinois, Florida, or California. A collaborative, development‑oriented environment is offered.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of transactional/M&A experience at a law firm, primarily focused on private company M&A.
• Experience with private equity/sponsor clients on acquisitions, dispositions and growth equity.
• Ability to lead initial deal stages, including negotiating a term sheet and drafting first drafts of purchase/merger agreements.
• Experience managing multiple matters simultaneously.
• J.D. degree and strong academic credentials; admitted in Illinois, Florida, or California.

About You:

• You have 3-6 years of transactional/M&A experience at a law firm, primarily focused on private company M&A;

• You are able to be the lead on initial stages of a deal, such as negotiating a term sheet and drafting (or marking up) the first draft of a purchase/merger agreement;
• You have experience managing multiple matters simultaneously;
• You have a J.D. degree (or its equivalent) and strong academic credentials; and
• You are admitted in (and in good standing with), or taking steps to become admitted in, the applicable jurisdiction (Illinois, Florida, or California).
