Job summary

S4L Partners seeks a Finance associate to join the Finance & Transactions team in our Los Angeles office. You will work on private company M&A matters, collaborating with shareholders and participating in business development and client-facing activities.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of transactional experience at a law firm, with private equity exposure, and is capable of leading initial deal stages, drafting term sheets, and preparing first drafts of purchase or merger agreements.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of transactional/M&A experience at a law firm.
• Experience with private equity/sponsor clients on acquisitions, dispositions and growth equity.
• Lead on initial deal stages, negotiating term sheets and drafting first drafts of purchase/merger agreements.
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
• J.D. degree with strong academic credentials.
• Admission to CA/IL/FL or pursuing admission.

About You:

• You have 3-6 years of transactional/M&A experience at a law firm, primarily focused on private company M&A;
• Your experience includes private equity/sponsor clients on acquisitions, dispositions and growth equity;
• You are able to be the lead on initial stages of a deal, such as negotiating a term sheet and drafting (or marking up) the first draft of a purchase/merger agreement;
• You have experience managing multiple matters simultaneously;
• You have a J.D. degree (or its equivalent) and strong academic credentials; and
• You are admitted in (and in good standing with), or taking steps to become admitted in, the applicable jurisdiction (Illinois, Florida, or California).
