Job summary

S4L Partners is seeking a Finance associate to join our Finance & Transactions team in Chicago or Los Angeles. You will work closely with shareholders on private company M&A matters and participate in business development and client-facing activities.

The ideal candidate has 3-6 years of transactional/M&A experience at a law firm, strong J.D. credentials, and the ability to lead initial deal stages—negotiating term sheets and drafting first drafts of agreements—while managing multiple matters

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of transactional/M&A experience at a law firm, focused on private company M&A.
• Experience with private equity/sponsor clients on acquisitions, dispositions and growth equity.
• Ability to lead initial deal stages, negotiate term sheets, and draft or markup purchase/merger agreements.
• Experience managing multiple matters simultaneously.
• J.D. degree and strong academic credentials.
• Bar admission in Illinois, Florida, or California (or in process).

• You are able to be the lead on initial stages of a deal, such as negotiating a term sheet and drafting (or marking up) the first draft of a purchase/merger agreement;
• You have experience managing multiple matters simultaneously;
• You have a J.D. degree (or its equivalent) and strong academic credentials; and
• You are admitted in (and in good standing with), or taking steps to become admitted in, the applicable jurisdiction (Illinois, Florida, or California).
