Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and focusing on merchandising and processing freight.

You will assist with store functions, open/close, maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards, and manage freight flow and stock needs, including frozen & refrigerated items. The role emphasizes safe, friendly interactions with customers and teams.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks involving walking, standing, lifting.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Ensure store cleanliness and presentability throughout the shift.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise needs including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sale items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
