Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is looking for a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates and delivering positive experiences for our communities. You will focus on merchandising and processing freight while supporting day-to-day store operations.

You will assist with opening/closing, protect assets, enforce safety guidelines, stock the store, and implement directives. The role requires strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Keep store clean and presentable, including bathrooms
• Maintain positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team
• Other duties as assigned
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise
• Manage freight flow in line with productivity standards
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen & refrigerated, per productivity standards
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective
• Plan and merchandise clip strips and power panels with sale items
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners
