Job summary

Dollar Tree in the Phoenix area is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, merchandise movement, and opening/closing duties, while ensuring compliance with corporate directives and safety standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, team leadership, and the ability to manage a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail/grocery/drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey).
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Support the Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
