Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates and delivering positive experiences for our communities. You’ll focus on merchandising and processing freight, helping to maintain store standards and safe, efficient operations.

The role emphasizes opening/closing duties, asset protection, customer service, and executing corporate directives while keeping the sales floor stocked and presentable.

Qualifications

• Retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain store cleanliness and restock bathrooms, floors, and trash
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Other duties as assigned
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards
• Order and stock merchandise needs including frozen & refrigerated
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective
• Plan and merchandise Clip Strips and Power Panels
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners
