Job summary

At Home Group Inc. in Pharr, Texas is seeking an Assistant Store Manager – Merchandising to support the Store Manager in leading merchandising, store conditioning, and team functions in a large-format retail environment.

You will drive sales, develop talent, coach for higher performance, manage staffing and payroll, oversee transitions and signage, and uphold safety and customer service standards while embodying At Home’s values.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a big-box/high-volume retail environment.
• Experience leading teams of 20+ Team Members and managing $5M+ in annual revenue or budget.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with HRIS and scheduling systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused with store-operational knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales, profit, and performance goals while delivering a customer-focused shopping experience.
• Attract, hire, and develop talent; build internal bench strength and succession plans.
• Coach staff to improve performance and support internal career growth.
• Staffing to labor model, scheduling, and payroll accuracy while controlling expenses.
• Plan and oversee merchandising transitions, resets, and visual standards.
• Maintain organized signage and fixtures.
• Lead safety, inventory control/shrinkage, and loss prevention efforts.
• Address Team Member and customer concerns with urgency and professionalism.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and laws.
• Champion a positive, inclusive and safe environment where Team Members can grow.
• Lead team communication through regular huddles and meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
