Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to work alongside the Store Manager, leading a dynamic team and delivering positive experiences for the communities we serve. You’ll focus on merchandising and processing freight.

You will open and close the store, protect assets, maintain the stockrooms and sales floor, and ensure compliance with policies and safety guidelines. This role supports freight flow and monthly sales planning to drive results.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Open and close procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including cash.
• Follow policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
• Maintain store stockrooms and sales floors to company standards.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Keep store clean and presentable, including bathrooms.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Support Store Manager with freight/DSD processing and flow.
• Plan, merchandise, and stock merchandise needs, including frozen/refrigerated items.
