Job summary

JobTarget, LLC seeks a Merch Manager responsible for all merchandising operations across assigned departments. This role reports to the Store Manager and ensures layout, promotions, and loss prevention standards are met.

The position emphasizes leadership, staff development, and adherence to company initiatives to optimize sales, shrink control, and customer satisfaction. Flexibility in hours and locations is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of management, operations and merchandising experience in a Big Box environment.
• Strong financial and retail management skills; able to lead a diverse team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally and handle physical store duties.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed budgeted sales daily and drive KPIs.
• Organize daily activities across departments, merchandising and operations.
• Train and develop department leads and staff.
• Open/close the store as assigned.
• Assist with staffing and hiring processes.
• Counsel and evaluate staff with the Store Manager.
• Ensure flawless execution of company initiatives (ads, markdowns, freight, etc.).
• Maintain excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly.
• Audit policies and deter theft with a visible management presence.
