Job summary

Cherokee Federal is hiring a Physician to provide comprehensive medical evaluations for MEPS applicants on-site at multiple locations. The role requires DoD standards compliance, detailed history taking, physical exams, and coordinating with medical staff to maintain accurate records.

A CAC/PIV is preferred; licensure and residency requirements apply. Starting salary ranges from $208,000 to $250,000 with full-time benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K.

Qualifications

• Physician degree and licensure required.
• One year of supervised clinical experience after degree (internship or first year of residency).
• Must hold an active medical license in the U.S. (state/DC/PR/territory).
• Minimum 3 years of graduate training or equivalent experience in the specialty.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, histories and exams per DoD standards.
• Evaluate diagnostic tests and disqualifying conditions.
• Perform comprehensive in-person histories and orthopedic-neurological exams.
• Coordinate with consultants and waiver authorities; communicate abnormal findings.

Education

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

1-year internship or 1st year of residency

Active medical license (US state/DC/PR/territory)

3 years of graduate training in specialty or equivalent
