Job summary

Cherokee Federal invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner to perform comprehensive medical evaluations for MEPS applicants, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Privacy Act, DoD, and USMEPCOM standards. You will review records, take histories and exams, interpret tests, and flag disqualifying conditions.

On-site duties at MEPS locations with collaboration across multiple medical teams. The position requires current NP licensure, board certification in an approved specialty, and CAC/PIV

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nurse Practitioner
• Board certification in FNP, ANP, Adult-Gerontology NP or Acute Care NP
• Current, unrestricted NP license in any U.S. state or territory
• Minimum of one year post-graduate direct patient care experience
• MEPS experience preferred; familiarity with military documentation systems is a plus
• CAC/PIV preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical histories and physical examinations for military applicants.
• Review medical documentation, test results, and medical histories to determine the applicant's medical qualifications.
• Lead mental health and general health assessments, coordinating with specialists as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Document medical histories, physical exams, and consultations in MHS Genesis.
• Participate in peer reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth operations and patient care.
• Assist with risk management and improve medical processing workflows.
