Job summary

Cherokee Federal is hiring a Nurse Practitioner to perform comprehensive medical evaluations for MEPS applicants, ensuring compliance with DoD and USMEPCOM standards. The role requires on-site work at MEPS locations and involves reviewing records, histories, and tests, and coordinating with psychiatry, dermatology, and orthopedics as needed.

Ideal candidates hold an NP degree, are board-certified in a relevant specialty, and possess an unrestricted U.S. NP license with MEPS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral NP degree from an accredited program.
• Board-certified NP in one of FNP/ANP/AGNP/ACNP.specialties.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the U.S..
• MEPS experience preferred; familiarity with military medical standards is a plus.
• Ability to pass pre-employment qualifications for government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and perform physical exams for MEPS applicants.
• Review tests and records to determine medical qualifications for service.
• Lead health assessments and coordinate with specialists as needed.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
• Document in MHS Genesis EHR and other systems accurately.
