Job summary

Cherokee Federal is hiring a Nurse Practitioner to perform comprehensive medical evaluations for MEPS applicants in compliance with DoD and OSHA standards. You will review medical history, coordinate with specialists, and document using MHS Genesis, ensuring HIPAA privacy and high-quality patient care.

The role supports multi-location postings with full benefits; CAC/PIV eligibility is preferred for government clearance. Candidates should have NP certification and active licensure in the US.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral NP degree from an ANCC/ANPCP‑accredited program.
• Board certified in FNP, ANP, Adult‑Gerontology NP or Acute Care NP.
• Current, unrestricted NP license in any US state or territory.
• Minimum of 1 year post‑graduate direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct histories and physical exams for MEPS applicants per military standards.
• Review medical records and tests to determine medical qualifications.
• Lead mental and general health assessments with specialists as needed.
• Apply military accession standards to evaluate applicants.
• Maintain HIPAA/privacy compliance in all interactions.
• Document histories and exams in MHS Genesis EHR.
• participate in peer reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of medical documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and military personnel.
• Assist with risk management and workflow improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
